Join this session to go beyond a generic discussion of restrictive covenant agreements and learn strategies for identifying and protecting the company’s sensitive confidential information and trade secrets. This session will include an overview of trade secret and unfair competition laws, analysis of the current legal trends governing trade secrets and unfair competition, security measures to protect trade secrets and confidential information, and a brief discussion of the benefits and strategies of the litigation process if and when the keys to the castle are stolen.

Jeff Costolnick, Associate, Ogletree Deakins

 Jeff Costolnick’s practice is focused on employment law, litigation, and policy drafting and review. Mr. Costolnick received his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Georgia and graduated cum laude from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor. While attending law school, Mr. Costolnick served on the Mercer Law Review as Editor of the Annual Survey of Eleventh Law, served as student editor for the Journal of Southern Legal History, was a member of the Brainerd Currie Honor Society, and was the recipient of the Faculty Award for Outstanding Achieve ment in Legal Writing and the H.T. O’Neal Merit Scholarship, as well as other awards. Mr. Costolnick has widespread experience representing private and government employers and insurers in the defense of employment related liability issues, and assisting with a broad range of human resources topics under federal and state law. Mr. Costolnick is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association, and he has been a featured speaker at numerous legal education seminars.
